We are back!
January 11, 2022
Dearest Nyack Nourishes donors,
When we served our 2000th meal to healthcare workers in May 2020, we didn’t predict that we would be wrestling with such high rates of COVID almost 18 months later. With cases on a steep rise (COVID child hospitalizations are sadly up 112% nationwide), we have been alerted that Montefiore Nyack Hospital is experiencing this latest surge. In an effort to alleviate this ongoing strain, Nyack Nourishes wanted to circle back to our incredible donors for possible assistance as we pushed all of the funds raised in 2020 immediately back out to businesses in our community.
We are currently planning to work with four to six local establishments in our beloved village who are experiencing a winter lull in business in an effort to feed our healthcare workers several times over the the course of one month.
If you are in a position to help, we would really appreciate it. Thank you for your past support and current consideration.
Please stay healthy, warm and kind.
The Nyack Nourishes Team
What a year it has been!
What a year it has been. Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of when Montefiore Nyack Hospital treated their first Covid patient. As a thank you to the dedicated staff, Nyack Nourishes will be serving bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches from Nyack Diner in the morning and then a late night snack from Olde Village Inne with the talented Tim O'Donohue providing music.
The amazing Nyack Fire Department will be joining us with a truck parade in front of the hospital at 4pm tomorrow (3/10/20). We welcome anyone to safely (masks, social distance) join us as we cheer and give thanks to the staff along Midland Avenue at 4pm (signs of thanks are always welcomed!).
We have all been in this together from the start and continue to stand as a beloved community. We are one step closer!
Nyack Nourishes’ mission is to provide meals for the healthcare heroes working at Montefiore Nyack Hospital and the Nyack Community Ambulance Corps during the Covid 19 crisis while supporting local Nyack restaurants in need.
Nyack Nourishes realizes that our community is more than just a group of people living in a town along the Hudson. Our community is a group of people who know that they can lean on each other when times are tough. No one in our community needs more support and nourishment at this moment than the healthcare workers on the front line and our small businesses.
Many of our friends, neighbors and family members make up those medical workers at Montefiore Nyack Hospital and the Nyack Community Ambulance Corps who are putting their lives at risk in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak. They are working extra shifts and long days to focus on caring for those in our community – rarely stopping to eat or think about a meal.
Nyack Nourishes and local Nyack restaurants want to help them fight on!
Please continue to spread the word and check back to this page for updates. Feel free to contact Annie Hekker Weiss, Susan Wilmink or Jen Knecht if you have any questions.
Thank you for the generous donations! In the fortunate event that we get beyond this crisis and have additional funds remaining, we will evenly distribute those donations among the participating restaurants to use for a celebration with the hospital, EMTs and the community at large. Stay tuned!
Thank you so much for your support during this difficult time.
Participating restaurants include:
Greek-ish (aka 8 North)
Casa del Sol
The Olde Village Inne
We can only accommodate ten restaurants at this time but we know that many amazing restaurants in Nyack are rolling up their sleeves to feed healthcare workers and they need your help as well.
If you don't see your favorite Nyack restaurant listed, please contact them directly and we can assist them with the guidelines needed to serve individual bulk meals to the hospital and EMT workers.
Dear Nyack Nourishes Supporters-
As we reflect and give thanks this Thanksgiving, we would be remiss not to reach out and share our gratitude to each of you. You supported and lifted up this community in the face of adversity. We are forever grateful.
Your generous donations made it possible for Nyack Nourishes to:
And on Thanksgiving night, while the shifts were changing at the hospital, we were able to deliver over 80 hand knitted scarves and hats as a thank you to the hospital workers who continue to be on the front line of this ever growing crisis.
We want to ask Maria Rodriguez to take a bow for knitting up a storm and being responsible for warming the hearts of over 80 Montefiore Nyack Hospital staff members. Thank you Maria!
We don't know what this winter will bring for our beloved community but we want to thank each of you again for supporting Nyack Nourishes. We appreciate it and you.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO SHOP & EAT LOCAL!

HELP OUR LOCAL BARBER
We are Aidan and Nathan, we are 14 years old and Vlad at Nyack Barbershop has been our barber for our whole lives! He is responsible for our great haircuts and we know there are lots of others of you around town who Vlad and his crew keep looking sharp. Due to COVID -19, the Nyack Barbershop is closed. We have decided to set up this Go Fund Me Page to help support him during this time.
